Rodney-Ray (Rude) Mancell, 27, is 27 from Gundary NSW, has been on the rodeo road since he was just 5 years old. As a young gun, Rude breakaway roped, rode steers and team roped, as well as went onto a successful bull riding career. Bullfighting has been a passion of his for the last 10 years. He has fought bulls all throughout the ABCRA Southern Zone during this time where he has been a 3 x Protection Athlete of the year title holder as well as the past 4 consecutive years at the ABCRA National Finals Rodeo and the last 3 years at the Sydney Royal Easter Show Rodeo; described as the one of the ‘Biggest & Richest Rodeo Events’ in Australia.
Rude puts the safety of the cowboy well above his own every time he steps in the arena. He prides himself on helping everyone around him to achieve everything they set their minds to; particularly the young up and comers in the sport of rodeo. Rodney-Ray brings with him a lifelong dedication to Rodeo to share with Wollongong for the Rodeo 4 Life event.
